You might have noticed some familiar looking characters appearing on the Google home page in the last few days. That’s because the search engine is celebrating the 40th anniversary of kids’ TV show Sesame Street with a series of its famous Google Doodles. Google Doodles are variations on the normal logo which incorporate a visual reference to some anniversary or current event.
Sesame Street is clearly important to the folks at Google. It doesn’t just get one Doodle it gets a whole series of them, with a different character from the Street each day.

Forward thinking as always, Sesame Street broadcast that clip way back in 1982, a whole 16 years before Google even existed!
